The CIRS Group Podcast

CIRS, or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, can happen to 25% of the population and is usually triggered by a biotoxin in the environment, like mold, red tide, lyme (tick bite), and even some medical interventions. Those with CIRS are susceptible to these toxins and cannot clear them on their own. Thankfully, treatment is possible, but given that people suffering with CIRS have difficulty processing new information, we created The CIRS Group and now, this podcast, to help people better understand and identify this treatable illness. Jacie is a 3 year carnivore, certified nutrition coach, and carnivore recipe developer determined to share the life changing information of carnivore and CIRS to anyone who will listen. Barbara is a wealth and wellness coach, 2 year carnivore and a big fan of health and freedom. Along with Jacie, she co-founded The CIRS Group, an online support community to help people that are struggling with their CIRS diagnosis.

CIRS, or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, is already a complicated illness with a complicated treatment plan. For those outside the United States, access to care can be even more difficult. If you are struggling to find a doctor who can see you or get access to parts of the Shoemaker Protocol, this episode is for you. Though we still believe, based on decades of research, that the Shoemaker Protocol is the gold standard to heal from CIRS or mold illness, we are so happy to know that there are alternatives you may be able to pursue while you wait to see a doctor (or perhaps don’t have access to one where you live). CIRS, or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, is an illness fit for horror movies - and guess what? Mold is quite often the star of the show. Today we do a silly episode (with some helpful bits, we think!) all about Jacie’s favorite movie genre: horror, and how biotoxins often play major role in our scary movies (and lives!). We tried not to spoil too many of these films, so we hope you enjoy whether you’ve seen some of these movies or not.. Your genes don’t mean you’re doomed, but being aware of them will help you avoid the triggers that together could cause you chronic illness like CIRS, chronic fatigue, Fibromyalgia, and more. Today we’ll dig into what those genetic haplotypes are, what they mean, and how you can help yourself and your family avoid chronic illness no matter what your genes might say. CIRS, or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, can sometimes cause intense, ongoing pain in severe cases. Joints, ligaments, muscles, your GI system, and even your brain can feel like it is on fire, and many normal pain medications won’t give relief. Today we wanted to do a special episode focusing on pain management for those of you experiencing pain that is incessant in hopes that one of these options might help you finally find some relief. As always, this is not medical advice: be sure to consult your CIRS doctor for which pain relief option might be best for you. CIRS, or Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, often comes with very low or “undetectable” levels of MSH, or Melanocyte Stimulating Hormone. This hormone, which naturally occurs in the body, is connected to so many systems and can consequently cause a ton of symptoms when it’s too low. Today, we tackle all the ways this can manifest in CIRS patients, and offer some tips on getting yours back to normal levels.
